| Located in an upper Nu'uanu neighborhood this charming
hip roof house was built in the 1930's. The Owner's desire was to have a patio area
to entertain friends and family members while maintaining the character of the house and
its remembrance of days past. A traditional Hawaiian landscape with a grand lawn
leading to the front door was emphasized. The front yard was regraded to provide a
smooth level lawn rolling to a low seat wall and slightly sunken slate paved patio.
Flowering Sweet Alyssum, Pink and Lavender Impatiens, and Azaleas were planted to give an
English feeling to the planting palette. A small entertainment breakfast patio area,
adjacent to a backyard lawn was designed and is surrounded by a tropical oasis of Gingers,
Gardenias and Heliconias. |
